Subframe

 Need to tie the subframe to the OE motor mount and build a cross member for the rear lower suspension still.

Surgery

After test fitting the LS3 a dozen times I decided the "normal" install position that most folks use is just not that great. The CVs are pushed back about 4" from stock, you have to run an electric water pump and options for drysumps are limited. Also the front of the motor sits a couple inches low.

So I drew a picture on the bulkhead:

Then cut it out with a plasma torch:

OE waterpump needs a custom thermostat housing and outlet but will be so much nicer than an electric pump!




Close up of the lower bulkhead where the OE Porsche motor mount attached. This lower section was all boxed in to accommodate the engine and chassis loads. I took more material off of the drivers side to make room for the alternator and power steering pump. I will box it all back in and tie the new engine cradle into the old motor mount location to stiffen every up.
